I am a big believer in rituals in routines as powerful tools to create structure, consistency, and a sense of safety in our lives. They help me to anchor and reduce my decision, fatigue. When I have effective systems in place, I am able to have more mental space for creativity, connection and growth. Rituals to me bring intentionality and meaning into our everyday actions, helping me to romanticize the ordinary and find opportunities for reflection, grounding, and joy.
Equally important to my rituals and routines are products that help me to effectively establish and maintain these. This week I’ve put together a collection of my top five kitchen products that help me to book end my day with wellness and regularity. In this way, these products have become an extension of my rituals - helping me to nurture habits that contribute to my well-being, clarity, and sense of purpose.
So let’s get into it!
Rechargeable Milk Frother
This frother has become one of mine and my husband’s favorite tools in the kitchen. We use it every morning to froth up our raw milk and vanilla protein powder for our coffee. I also use it to froth up my pre-workout mix. This puppy has power for days (closer to a month) before it needs to be charged. It works so quickly and mixes all my different powders to a creamy consistency. Seriously, one of our most used products in the kitchen.
So well built and powerful. Perfect for mixing with any liquid.
2. Ninja Blender
I have had this blender for a few years now and still use consistently at least five times a week. My daughter loves protein shakes that I blend up with frozen bananas and some vanilla protein powder. But I also use it to make things like homemade hummus or homemade pesto. I like the size of it, because it does not take up too much storage space. And it has enough power to cut through just about anything
Great for smoothie bowls, protein shakes, dips, etc!
3. French Press
I gave up drinking K cups a few years back because of the plastic and hot water situation and switched to a French press. Now there is no turning back. I am obsessed with how my French press creates a bold, aromatic coffee. It brews in glass, so I am not concerned about consuming plastic. It is so simple to use. All you have to do is pour boiling hot water on top of your coffee grounds and let it sit for a few minutes to brew. It makes me feel like I’m on vacation when I drink from it (which is daily). 100% recommendation for coffee lovers.
Effortless and rich coffee.
4. Kitchen Aid Mixer
I got this as one of my wedding gifts (over a decade ago!!) and can attest to the durability and functionality of this mixer. It’s one of those classic capsule pieces that every kitchen needs. Yes it’s a bit of an investment, but it will come in handy when you are baking with your kids (hello, memories), mixing up dinners, kneeling bread dough, etc. There are also a fun attachments that you can buy to go with it. I recently bought Matt the pasta maker attachment. We have had some fun playing around with that making homemade pasta. There’s really so many versatile dishes you can use this for.
Timeless addition to your kitchen
5. Cold press juicer
If you followed me for a minute, you know how obsessed I am with my Nama J2 cold press juicer. I use my juicer every. single. day. I use it daily to make celery juice. Which is great for digestion and hydration to starting your day. This summer I’ve also loved creating really fun juice blends for my daughter & freezing some of those into popsicle molds. You can also make your own nut milk using this juicer. It’s really fun just to mix and match and play with different produce and flavor profiles to make your own creation. While it is an investment, if you think about what you might be spending at the grocery to buy store-bought juices packed with added sugar, this juicer really can pay for itself overtime. Plus, you’ll feel great about the nutrients you are receiving and what you’re giving to your kids.
My personal favorite kitchen investment this past year.
